Privacy Policy — Vitae
Last updated: 17 August 2026
1. Summary
Vitae collects nothing. There is no server, no account, no analytics. Everything the extension does happens inside your browser.
2. Your CV
When you upload a PDF or DOCX, it is parsed locally in your browser. The extracted text is saved in chrome.storage.local on your device. The file itself is never uploaded anywhere. You can delete the stored text at any time from the extension popup. Uninstalling the extension removes all stored data.
3. Job postings
Keyword matching runs entirely in the page, in your browser. The content of job postings you visit is never read by anyone but you, and is never stored or transmitted.
4. Optional feedback
Highlighted words include a "share" button. Clicking it opens a form hosted by Tally in a new tab, pre-filled with that single word. Nothing is sent unless you press Submit on that page. Opening a Tally page means Tally receives standard web request data such as your IP address — see Tally's privacy policy. Using this feature is entirely optional.
5. Changes
Any changes to this policy will be posted here with an updated date.
